If I had a picture of a rather large round ton lady I would have to post it and name it J e a n. . . there is something about turkey and trimmings that you do not say no to; a little taste...nah...seconds and even an extra tug at the turkey before it is put away for the day.. Our turkey was delicious. Our table filled with all kinds of 'good things', after all we had a birthday girl as well as a turkey celebration so you might say we are filled to the brim and hopefully carry over for today so we can get our stomachs back to normal. There is just something about Thanksgiving that says 'no holds barred...go for it' and we do. I didn't think I'd ever eat again but I woke up, have coffee right here at my elbow ..but...nothing to go with it ...yet...smile....cannot understand why I didn't wake up with that urge to head for the kitchen and a few goodies......wonder why.....smile.....after all Thanksgiving is a'fulfilling' day!!! In spades....smile!!
I hope you had a Thanksgiving to remember with love and the satisfaction of having shared it with those you not only love but like. Today is a good day to pick up the phone and give thanks to your hostess and hope for an invite to the left overs....ha.ha.ha.
I am looking at a beautiful purple sky this morning. It is really gorgeous...shades of lavenders, both light and dark, not a breeze as nothing is moving. Silence...early morning silence is more than welcome as you have time to stop, look and listen to the sounds of a brand new day. The day after Thanksgiving and a lot of folks will head out for the first of the Christmas sales. The vendors want action, want YOU out there sending money and filling lists a mile long...time to take action and fool them......think......make your list, check it twice and then take your time finding just the right gift for the ones you love. It is not what you put out money wises; it is what you put out heart wise.....the person you know and love has needs....an the biggest one is always a hug from YOU. Don't forget to check and see if you have any wrapping paper and ribbon left over from last year....we tend to put it away and forget all about it.
Our Erin had a wonderful birthday even though it came on Thanksgiving Day. She had a special birthday cake that was enjoyed by all; not a crumb left....what is that about proof is in the pudding saying???? well I think it is gone...crumbs and all. I knew should have put a tiny slice away for today....come to think of it, I don't think there was a crumb left.
So we have a new day...make it a good one....don't forget a holiday thank you to your hostess as a lot of thought, work, and deeds go into the making of a holiday feast and all the love that goes with it. Be good.....be kind....be YOU!!! Hugs to all.
